The Cape Town Big 7 officially launched last week, as the Cape Town Big 6 saw the importance of including an urban element into the already established collection of must-visit Cape Town attractions. The new Cape Town City Walk makes the Cape Town CBD even more accessible and engaging, following the trend from major cities around the world.

According to the Minister of Tourism Braam Hanekom, speaking at the official launch, “Barcelona has its La Ramblas, Paris its Champs-Elysees, Marrakesh its Medina and Tokyo its Harajuku district. Our cities can tap into this growing demand, which is an opportunity to grow our visitor numbers by profiling great cities and their diverse offerings. Urban tourism also has the potential to extend our ‘tourist season’, because visitors seeking inner city experiences are less guided by the weather.”
