Earlier this month the Cape Town Big 7 treated a selection of Cape Town’s finest front-of-house staff to a Big 7 experience like none other.

The staff are the lifeblood of the Cape Town tourism industry, and they are often the first face that visitors to our city will meet. There were 30 establishments represented on the tour from a range of the city’s best tourism businesses.

Hylton Ross provided the transport, and tour guide company Footsteps to Freedom facilitated the tour.

We travelled in style with the representatives to all Big 7 attractions, including Table Mountain Cableway, V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, Cape Point, Groot Constantia, Kirstenbosch Gardens, and the new addition of the Cape Town City Walk. Each Big 7 destination sponsored prizes en-route to the destinations. During the journey, we encouraged the front of house staff to sit back and enjoy the journey as if they were tourists.

For many, the City Walk was a new experience altogether. The entire group shared an appreciation for how much there is to see and do in the city centre, even during inclement weather. There was an equal level of enthusiasm at each destination, as Footsteps to Freedom told fascinating tales of past, present, and future. All of the Big 7’s guest left with numerous pictures and great memories to share with friends, families, and clients.

The group was able to experience Cape Town’s top attractions first-hand, so they can now offer considered advice to all new and returning visitors looking for suggestions on their next trip to Cape Town.
