It may be hard to believe it but the festive season is here. As usual the Cape Town Big 6 will be ending the year in style, and kicking off the New Year with a bang. Here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect at the Cape Town Big 6 over the festive season.

Kirstenbosch Gardens

Kirstenbosch Gardens offer the most idyllic setting to ring in the New Year. The famous Kirstenbosch New Years Eve party this year features Mango Groove, supported by Arno Carstens, and tickets are already selling fast. The tranquil, family friendly environment makes this one of the country’s most celebrated New Year’s Eve parties, and it is guaranteed to get 2015 off to the perfect start.

You can purchase tickets to the Kirstenbosch New Year’s Eve part on the Cape Town Big 6 ticket page.

Of course, the gardens are open throughout the festive season, so even if you don’t make it to any of the scheduled Kirstenbosch concerts, you can always pack a picnic and head for a tranquil green corner to celebrate with your friends and family.

Groot Constantia

The festive season is the busiest time of year at Groot Constantia. There’s plenty on the go for local and international visitors alike. The two restaurants at Groot Constantia, Jonkershuis and Simon’s Restaurant, stay open throughout the festive season. Jonkershuis has one of the most celebrated local menus in the Cape, while the nearby Simon’s offers an altogether different dining experience. This year Simon’s will have a deli opening up, and they will also be packing sumptuous picnic baskets for you to take out and enjoy on the fantastic Groot Constantia lawns.
