We’re very excited to announce the addition of a new member to the Cape Town Big 6 family, which will see us becoming the Cape Town Big 7!

We’ve always felt passionate about Cape Town’s urban centre, already nestled between two of the Big 6 family in Table Mountain Cableway and V&A Waterfront, and as such we have expanded the Big 6 to include the brand new Cape Town City Walk.

The City Walk will join Robben Island, V&A Waterfront, Cape Point, Groot Constantia, Table Mountain Cableway and Kirstenbosch to form the new Big 7 unmissable attractions in Cape Town.

If you are visiting us in Cape Town, we hope that this move will encourage you to extend your stay in the Mother City, and provide you with more information about how you can tap into one of the world’s most vibrant and dynamic urban centres.

The City Walk, which kicks off this Saturday, starts in the tranquil green heart of the city in the Company’s Gardens, moves down the bustling St George’s Mall, and continues up the ever-popular Fan Walk through to St Andrew’s Square. It will connect you to significant attractions and places in the city centre with storytelling, walking tours, public art, and retail offerings.

According to Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana, CEO of the Cape Town Partnership, which facilitates the City Walk, they are aware that one route can’t tell the complete story of the Cape Town CBD. As such, the City Walk route will have a “hub-and-spoke approach, with points of interest including the Bo Kaap, Green Market Square, the Grand Parade, the Castle and City Hall feeding off the route and included in the narrative”.

It’s a fascinating concept that will add another amazing element to our group of already world-famous Cape Town attractions, and we are excited to watch as locals and tourists alike engage with the Cape Town inner city in a whole new way.
