The Cape Town Big 6 display cabinets are not short of impressive accolades. Just a few weeks ago Cape Point scooped a prized Lilizela Tourism Award – for the best management of a scenically beautiful location. And now, the V&A Waterfront has picked up an equally impressive accolade

from the World Travel Market in London.

The V&A Waterfront was announced the winner of the award for “Best Destination for Responsible Tourism”. This highly contested award recognises the V&A Waterfront’s commitment and leadership in preserving the precinct’s rich heritage, and its forward thinking with regards to sustainable development. It all ties in with the strong commitment that the V&A Waterfront has made towards ongoing sustainability, without sacrificing the beauty and fascinating heritage of this nation treasure.

CEO of the V&A Waterfront David Green said that “As a truly responsible corporate citizen we regard it as our duty to future generations to constantly focus on sustainable practises, from reducing our carbon footprint to preserving our scarce energy and water reserves. As the custodians of one of the world’s best waterfronts in the world, we strive to offer locals and visitors alike a world-class destination that nevertheless remains true to its historic roots”.
