Incredible Illusions

Easter Egg Hunt at the Table Mountain Cable Way

Seniors Special

Guided Walks

Thirty-minute guided tours happen on the hour from 09:00 to 15:00 daily, departing from the Twelve Apostles Terrace (below the Café). These are free, family-friendly walks conducted by our staff, who will share the story of Table Mountain and the Cableway, and provide any assistance you may require.

Nature’s Treasure Box holiday art workshop
Children aged 6 – 9 love this holiday programme, which includes games, stories, a walk through Kirstenbosch and the creation of their own very special “nature’s treasure box”. They paint and decorate the box and put into it the natural treasures that they find and make during the morning. They are guided and closely supervised by the experienced team of Kirstenbosch education officers.

Cape Orchid Society Show
Disas and Diamonds is a celebration of the Cape Orchid Society’s 60th anniversary. Our diamond jubilee show will be a visual recollection of our journey through the decades. From our humble yet enthusiastic beginnings in the 1950s follow our journey to the present and beyond. Join us in celebrating this milestone of orchid culture and conservation.

There will be a bounty of unusual and exotic orchids for sale from national and international growers. This is a wonderful opportunity for budding orchid enthusiasts to add some real beauties to their windowsills, patios and shadehouses.

The TMNP My Green Card is available exclusively to residents of Cape Town and provides the holder with 12 free entries into any of the Table Mountain National Park’s pay points: Cape of Good Hope (Cape Point), Boulders Penguin Colony, Oudekraal and Silvermine, as well as to the braai and picnic areas at Tokai, Newlands and Perdekloof.

Robben Island

Explore South Africa’s political past with an informative tour at the maximum security prison. But Robben Island isn’t just about the political past of our country, keep an eye out for the African penguins that are on the island.

The ferry ride to Robben Island is an adventure in itself, enjoy spectacular views of Table Mountain from the upper deck of the ferry if you are lucky, you may even spot some dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves.

Tour the Robben Island surrounds in a guided bus tour and view the Robben Island shipwrecks, 19th century Lighthouse; the only lighthouse in South Africa to use a flashing light instead of a revolving light.

A former Robben Island inmate will guide you while on the island, and you’ll receive unparalleled insight into the significant role that each of the Robben Island’s inmates collectively played throughout apartheid. You will be guided to the maximum security prison, various Robben Island exhibition displays and a visit to Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.

You will also be able to visit the World War 2 canons and a limestone quarry where Madiba, and so many others, crushed limestone.

Infecting the City

This April, Infecting the City – South Africa’s pioneering public arts festival – will once again be igniting Cape Town’s public spaces, including City Walk. A collaboration between the Africa Centre and the Institute of Creative Arts, Infecting the City celebrates a decade of seminal performances and installations by artists from around South Africa and the world. First Thursdays Cape Town is a free cultural experience where art galleries and other cultural attractions in the central and East city districts stay open late on the first Thursday of every month. The night is as much about experiencing art and culture as it is about exploring the city on foot. Women’s Work: Crafting stories, subverting narratives

Easter Egg Hunt in the Company Gardens

On Monday, 17 April, Grand Foods, the operating company for Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins South Africa (known as Dunkin’ Brands) will host an Easter egg hunt for 300 children and adults at the Company Gardens, Paddocks area. On arrival, guests will receive a coffee and doughnut.

Adults are encouraged to bring their own blankets for comfort to enjoy treats on offer and watch children enjoy the Easter egg hunt. Apart from the Easter egg hunt, children will enjoy jumping castles, trampolines, puzzle games and more.
