Winter Special

Once again Cape Point will be bringing the heat with their mid-year specials (1 July to 30 September 2017) where two kids (aged 6 -16) ride free on the Flying Dutchman Funicular when an adult return ticket is bought for R65.

The funicular is the only one of its kind in Africa so it’s a novel way to get to the top (without breaking a sweat). From up there, you’ll have amazing views all around, it’ll make you hungry for more. You can curb that craving at the Two Oceans Restaurant , with its mouthwatering dishes. Did we mention that kids eat free with any main meal ordered? Simply tell your waiter you’d like to claim the kids winter special and you’ll receive a free kiddies meal with each main meal ordered (sit-down only).

Two Oceans Restaurant

The Two Oceans Restaurant occupies an enviable position above False Bay at the southwestern tip of Africa. The restaurant is as famous for its seafood cuisine as it is for a superb wooden deck that looks out onto one of the most stunning ocean views in South Africa.

My Green Card

The TMNP My Green Card is available exclusively to residents of Cape Town and provides the holder with 12 free entries into any of the Table Mountain National Park’s pay points: Cape of Good Hope (Cape Point), Boulders Penguin Colony, Oudekraal and Silvermine, as well as to the braai and picnic areas at Tokai, Newlands and Perdekloof.

City Walk

First Thursday

First Thursdays Cape Town is a free cultural experience where art galleries and other cultural attractions in the central and East city districts stay open late on the first Thursday of every month. The night is as much about experiencing art and culture as it is about exploring the city on foot. We suggest browsing the highlights right here and choosing a few exhibitions and attractions that you’d like to see, but be open to letting the night take its own course. Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

Kirstenbosch Biodiversity and Waste Holiday Art Workshop

What happens to all our litter and waste? Could we reduce, reuse or recycle it? Learners aged 10 – 12 will enjoy a walk in Kirstenbosch and come to appreciate just how special our biodiversity is. They will consider the impact litter and waste is having on our special plants and animals. Back at the Gold Fields Education Centre they will use waste materials to make a useful item, which they will taken home with them.

Kirstenbosch Nature’s Treasure Box Holiday Art Workshop

Children aged 6 – 9 love this workshop. They enjoy a game and a story linked to the theme. They are led into Kirstenbosch Garden in small groups by our education officers, where they have fun in nature and discover just how varied and beautiful it is. They return to the Gold Fields Education Centre, where they paint and decorate a box into which they place some of nature’s treasures. Be sure to book early, as this workshop usually fills up fast! Robben Island

Explore South Africa’s political past with an informative tour at the maximum security prison. But Robben Island isn’t just about the political past of our country, keep an eye out for the African penguins that are on the island.

The ferry ride to Robben Island is an adventure in itself, enjoy spectacular views of Table Mountain from the upper deck of the ferry if you are lucky, you may even spot some dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves.

Tour the Robben Island surrounds in a guided bus tour and view the Robben Island shipwrecks, 19th century Lighthouse; the only lighthouse in South Africa to use a flashing light instead of a revolving light.

A former Robben Island inmate will guide you while on the island, and you’ll receive unparalleled insight into the significant role that each of the Robben Island’s inmates collectively played throughout apartheid. You will be guided to the maximum security prison, various Robben Island exhibition displays and a visit to Nelson Mandela’s prison cell.

You will also be able to visit the World War 2 canons and a limestone quarry where Madiba, and so many others, crushed limestone.

To conclude the day buy a souvenir at the Robben Island Curio shop.

Table Mountain Cableway

Please note that the Table Mountain Cableway will be closed for maintenance from 24 July to 6 August 2017.

Kids Season

Explore the natural beauty and grace of Table Mountain with your children during the Cableway’s Kidz Season, when two kids ride for free with an adult who has purchased a return ticket online or from the Lower Cable Station.

This offer runs from May 1 to September 30 and is valid on weekends, public holidays, and during the June and July school holidays!

Seniors Special

South African senior citizens over the age of 60 years qualify for discounted rates on return tickets every Friday, upon producing a valid South African ID. They also have a meal special for pensioners at the Table Mountain Café on Fridays. Chat to a cashier about redeeming your meal special.

Guided Walks

Thirty-minute guided tours happen on the hour from 09:00 to 15:00 daily, departing from the Twelve Apostles Terrace (below the Café). These are free, family-friendly walks conducted by our staff, who will share the story of Table Mountain and the Cableway, and provide any assistance you may require.

Pump Track

Pumptrack is the result of many years of design experience in the bike structure and infrastructure field. Wil Sylvince (USA) at Cape Town Comedy Club

New York comedian, Wil Sylvince will be the Headline Act at our club from Wednesday 26 to Sunday 30 July 2017. He will then be heading to Johannesburg (in August) to open for Trevor Noah in his new show, Trevor Noah Live. In 2015, he also opened for Trevor in NationWILD and has also appeared at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival.

Wil will be joined on stage by the following comedians each night: Lungelo Ndlovu, Lindy Johnson and MC’s Stuart Taylor (Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday) & Al Prodgers from Johannesburg (Thursday & Friday). As usual, the line-up is always subject to change
